The Golden Chain

I recently inspected a home in Brewster, Massachusetts on Cape Cod  for a routine insurance survey and was struck by this unique at least to me tree that was found just a little way off of the front driveway on this property. The property itself fronts a large pond and has a two tenths of a mile private way to reach the home. At first, I got out of my car and started to walk to the house but after a short while I realized that the house wasn't seen right away so I turned around, went back to my car and drove as I didn't know how far away the house was from the private way and didn't really have time that day to walk a long distance.

The homeowner stated that this tree is called a "Golden Chain" and was planted in memory of a nephew who died at a young age. This tree reminded me a little bit of a "Wisteria vine" as far as the flower goes although the Wisteria flower is usually purple as far as I know.

It is said by some that no one truly dies in totality until the last person with a memory of you themselves slips their mortal coil and breaks their own "golden chain" of  life's earthly consciousness.
