Glass Outpost Pinecones

I saw this outdoor coat rack today in Dennisport on Cape Cod. It always amazes me that glass is a liquid as it sure appears solid to me. I guess in life things aren't always what they appear to be.
This glass outpost reminded me of the song by the Boston band "Human Sexual Response" and their song "Land of the Glass Pinecones" which describes I think a scene after "last call" at some bars where people toss their empty bottles into the shrubs and trees and alleyways while leaving the club.
"Land of the glass pinecones
They only grow for the full moon
The farmers never gather them
The magic cones are heaven-sent
Land of the glass pinecones
Their seeds are made of rhinestones
The squirrels never scatter them
They know what rhinestone seeds portend
Land of the glass pinecones
They smash on the grass when the wind blows
The splinters fly throughout the land
And pierce the eye of every manLand of the glass pinecones
The eye now sees what the tree knows
The splinters burn, but then we learn
That when we spend we have to bend
Its all a part of nature's plan
All a part of nature's plan
Land of the glass pinecones "

So everybody, sing along as you litter and smash your bottles after the bars close.
